Well one buries them selves in seed catalogs, online seed web sites, dreams about what you want to plant, what things you will change from what was learned from 2013 growing season.
With cloth covers on low tunnels & cold frames big and small, it's almost like the season is all year now
One of the BEST things about winter is the sunsets. More vibrant & colorful than ever. May not be as awesome as a CA winter sky but it's still worth looking up from your hunched over frozen walk!
I also feel that it should be a law that one has to keep Christmas or Winter outdoor lights up till March.
Seriously! Everyone goes nuts with lights for the holidays in December but then rush to take them around January 1 before winter really gets it's noose around us & it's a horrible chore to take down outside lights when your shivering, your hands & feet are numb, & your frozen red nose is dripping. Ugly picture, right? But then look at this picture & tell me why seeing this till March & avoiding all the above is not a good thing?
There is beauty in winter though. You just got to look for it!
